The Guide

Since I qualified as a Blue Badge Tourist Guide with the London Tourist Board in 1978, I have had considerable experience in travel and tourism. As a guide and tour manager in Britain and Europe, and as a travel director to destinations world-wide.

Companies whose clients I have looked after include American Express, Travellers International, Maritz Travel, Trafalgar Tours and Grand Circle Travel – the offical tour operator for the NRTA and AARP.

I now specialise in bespoke private guided tours using my own car (fully licensed and insured for such use)

I take great care over the selection and presentation of material to be informative and entertaining. With stories, conversation (and perhaps a little music) to illustrate some of the many facets of this richly varied and fascinating nation. I am sensitive to the requirements of my clients and have the flexibility and experience to modify tours to suit. I am down to earth, friendly, good humoured and accommodating. Hmmm . . but how do others see me?

I am a Life Fellow of the British Guild of Tourist Guides and a member of the Institute of Tourist Guiding, The Association of Professional Tourist Guides, The Driver-Guides Association (current deputy-chairman), The International Association of Tour Managers and the Institute of Advanced Motorists.
